A Chance to Witness History...

I was in San Diego last week and got to be at Petco Park (almost as lame a name as Energy Solutions Arena) when Greg Maddux went for win #350. Since no pitcher in modern baseball has ever won 350 games, it would have been a great feat to witness. It was 1-0 for the Padres going in to the 7th. Bell held off the Giants in the 8th, and then Trevor Hoffman came in to close things up. Problem is, he gave up a homer (into a strong wind) to Benji Molina and win #350 will have to wait until one of the two teams with a worse record than the Padres comes to town. They ended up losing in the 13th. Not that I really cared who won the game at that point. Anyway, just wanted to share my little frustrating story. Oh, side note... A guy got killed by a great white shark 15 miles north of where we were frolicking in the ocean the day before. Kinda freaky. But overall, it was a good trip to San Diego.

My (Unpoetic) Ode to Whitney

So, it has been a while since I posted anything to my blog. Which affects pretty much just one person— my cute daughter Whitney. As far as I know, she is the only one who checks my blog to see if I have posted anything new. Which I think says a lot about her. Let me tell you why...

Whitney cares about people. She doesn't just like her family and friends. She doesn't just like spending time with them. She honestly cares. It's a great attribute. Whitney is one person that really wants to know how I'm doing, how I'm feeling, and what I'm up to. I'll try to keep up a little better, 'cause I know you really want to know.

Thanks to Whitney for being so sweet and caring. You are awesome, dadre!
